Place Curation/ Program Manager
Transport NSW has an ambitious $4bn strategy to completely transform Sydney's Central Station over the next two decades. They engaged Right Angle to help them realise the first step in that strategy. Transport NSW had a desire to breath life back into the dilapidated and underutilised precinct at Central Station.
I was hired specifically for the project as program manager and brought on board to breath live back into the precinct. Over the course of 18 months I was tasked with all aspects of the project including concept development, placemaking, brand strategy, identity design, tenant recruitment, commercial leasing negotiation, all aspects of the build program, regulatory compliance, risk management, precinct launch and stake holder management (including Transport NSW, City of Sydney Town Planning, Investment NSW and 8 other governmental and private bodies).
I was able to successfully coordinate the building of the brand EDDY. Over the next 12 months I managed the recruitment, leasing and construction of 13 new commercial offerings including hospitality, retail, community radio, service, art spaces, music production. I was able to navigate the difficulties between the multiple often conflicting stakeholder priorities these stakeholders included. EDDY launched in November 2022 and has been received well.
In early 2023 I applied for a grant to cover marketing and district management costs. In June 2023 EDDY was awarded $200,000 by Investment NSW to cover these costs.
